TIPS ON MOVING
Call us as soon as possible with your moving date. Notifying us in advanced can guarantee your date and time slot that is most convenient for you.
The more organized you are the better. Moves typically move quicker when customers now where furniture will be placed in new location, have boxes labeled, and appliances unplugged. This generally speeds up the process therefore saving you time and money.
Keep valuables such as keys, legal documents, stock certificates, money, checkbook and credit cards with you in a safe place. Often times, these objects get misplaced during the relocation and become difficult to relocate.
Pack a couple of boxes a day, starting well ahead o the move.
Label all boxes to the specific room and alert movers of all “FRAGILE” cartons.
Barbecue Grills and Propane Tanks – Wrap briquettes separately in newspaper and place in cartons. Propane tanks will not be accepted.
Clocks – Remove or secure pendulum in large clocks. Grandfather clocks should be prepared for moving by an expert serviceman.
Firearms – You are responsible for transporting handguns and ammunition. Other firearms must be unloaded, with legible serial numbers and registered with B. Patrick Movers Representative before the move.
Flammable and Combustibles – Flammable liquids and aerosol cans must not be packed. Changes in temperature and pressure can cause them to leak or even explode.
Mirrors, Paintings and Pictures – Be sure to inform your B. Patrick Movers Representative about valuable paintings that require special care. The carrier will take down large wall or dresser mirrors.
Medicines – We recommend that you transport all medications with you.
Tools and Lawn Equipment – Drain all the oil and fuel from power tools such as leaf blowers, trimmers and chain saws.
Frozen Foods and Plants – Because of the delicate and perishable nature of these items, carriers are prohibited from accepting these packed items unless the shipment is transported less than 150 miles and/or delivery will be accomplished in 24 hours of loading.
